Mariachi Jalisciense , a local musical group in southern New Mexico, formed in September of 2015.
Mariachi Jalisciense is made up of passionate and skilled musicians who are united by their love of mariachi music and their Mexican heritage. The group’s sound is deeply rooted in traditional mariachi music, but they also bring their own unique regional flavor to their performances.
One of the defining characteristics of Mariachi Jalisciense is the diversity of its members. The group is made up of musicians from a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. Domonique Meza

Domonique Meza is a talented Mariachi violinist and singer with over 14 years of experience. Born and raised in the United States, Domonique was inspired by her grandparents’ Mexican heritage and their love of mariachi music. She began studying violin at a young age and quickly developed a passion for the traditional Mexican genre.
In addition to her musical career, Domonique is also a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal ICU who is dedicated to caring for others. Despite her busy work schedule, she continues to pursue her passion for mariachi music and performs regularly in her spare time. Her dedication and hard work have earned her a reputation as one of the most talented and sought-after mariachi performers in her region.
Domonique’s unique blend of musical talent and nursing expertise has allowed her to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether she is performing at a wedding or playing for a patient in a hospital, her music has the power to uplift and inspire. Through her work as a musician and nurse, Domonique is able to give back to her community and make a positive impact on the lives of those around her.

Miguel Angel Salinas

Miguel Angel Salinas is a talented mariachi vihuelista with 7 years of experience in playing the vihuela. Currently a high school student, Miguel was inspired to pursue mariachi music by his older brother, who introduced him to the instrument and the vibrant culture of traditional Mexican music.
Miguel’s dedication to his craft is evident in his skillful performances, which have made him a sought-after musician for local events and celebrations. Despite his young age, he has already gained a reputation for his emotional expressiveness and technical proficiency on the vihuela.
With his passion and talent, Miguel is sure to continue making a name for himself in the world of mariachi music. He hopes to inspire future generations of musicians to embrace this rich and vibrant cultural tradition, and to share his love for the vihuela with the world. As he continues to develop his skills and expand his repertoire, Miguel is poised to become one of the most prominent vihuelistas of his generation.

Sergio Luis Salinas

Sergio Salinas, a 23-year-old mariachi violinist, was born in Baja California, Mexico, and raised in the United States. Although he’s only been playing the violin for two years, he has over 10 years of experience playing mariachi as a vihuela player.
Currently, he serves as the musical director of Mariachi Jalisciense alongside Juan Daniel Salazar. Sergio and Juan Daniel are both committed to making Mariachi Jalisciense one of the best in the state, with high expectations for all their musicians.
Sergio fell in love with mariachi at a young age and decided to take on the responsibility of interpreting the music to keep the beautiful tradition alive and well.
Today, he ensures that Mariachi Jalisciense maintains the traditional mariachi sound that is beloved worldwide. With his dedication and passion, Sergio is sure to continue making a name for himself in the world of mariachi music and to inspire future generations of musicians to embrace this rich and vibrant cultural tradition.

Paola Hernandez
Violinista
Paola Hernandez is a talented mariachi violinist born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was brought up in a family that cherished the rich cultural heritage of Mexico, and her family passed on their love for mariachi music to her at a young age, and the connection to their heritage is an important part of her identity.
Paola began her journey in music 8 years ago when she was just a child, and her passion for the violin has only grown stronger over the years. Apart from her musical abilities, Paola is a motivated student. She is currently pursuing a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice, and her goal is to one day work in the field of forensic psychology. She is a dedicated student who puts a great deal of effort into her studies, and she is driven by a desire to use her education to help others.
Despite her busy schedule, Paola volunteers her time in the choir at Our Lady of Health every Sunday. Paola is passionate about her faith, and her participation in the choir is a way for her to express her devotion through music. In addition to her studies and volunteering, Paola works as a member services desk at Gym Magic Kids. She loves working with children, and her positive attitude and friendly demeanor make her a valuable member of the team. Paola is always willing to go the extra mile to help others, and her commitment to her work is a testament to her character.

Roman Meza

Roman Meza is a Medical Surgical Nurse with a passion for music. For over 14 years, Roman has played mariachi as a guitar and trumpet player. His love for music began at a young age, inspired by his grandparents’ heritage and the rich cultural traditions of his family.
As a musician, Roman has had the opportunity to perform at various events and venues, sharing his love for mariachi music with others. He is dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditional Mexican music genre and has a deep appreciation for the cultural significance and history of mariachi.
Alongside his musical pursuits, Roman is pursuing a career in nursing, with a particular interest in medical surgical nursing. He is committed to providing compassionate and competent care to patients and is determined to make a positive impact on their lives.
With a strong work ethic and a passion for both music and healthcare, Roman is an individual who is dedicated to pursuing his dreams and making a difference in the world.

Alejandro Salinas
Guitarronista
Alejandro Salinas is a musician and student from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, he moved with his family to Las Cruces at a young age and has called it home ever since. He developed a passion for music at an early age, and has been playing the guitarrón, a large Mexican bass guitar, for 11 years. In addition to his musical pursuits, Alejandro is a dedicated student of aerospace technology. He is currently studying at Dona Ana Community College, where he is gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in the field. Alejandro’s dedication to both his music and his education is a reflection of his strong work ethic and commitment to personal growth.
Alejandro is constantly seeking out new challenges and opportunities to learn, and is not afraid to push himself outside of his comfort zone. When he’s not studying or playing music, Alejandro enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring the natural beauty of his home state. Alejandro’s passion for music, education, and adventure make him a unique and dynamic individual, and he is sure to make a positive impact on the world around him.

Alfonso Hernandez

Alfonso Hernandez-Barraza is a talented musician and environmental science student based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Born and raised in the United States, Alfonso’s family hails from Camargo, Chihuahua, and he has always been deeply connected to his Mexican heritage. Music has been an important part of his life since he was young, and he began playing the guitar in middle school.
Since then, Alfonso has become a skilled guitarist, as well as a talented player of the vihuela and guitarron, two traditional instruments commonly used in mariachi music. He is a member of the Mariachi Jalisciense, a local group that plays at events and celebrations throughout the region.
Along with his passion for music, Alfonso is also deeply committed to his studies. He is currently pursuing a degree in environmental science at New Mexico State University, where he hopes to use his knowledge to help protect and preserve the natural world for future generations.
In his free time, Alfonso enjoys exploring the beautiful landscape of New Mexico, hiking and camping in the mountains and deserts that surround his hometown. He is also an avid reader and a fan of science fiction and fantasy novels.

Miguel A. Medrano

Miguel Angel Medrano is a seasoned mariachi singer, guitarist, and guitarron player, boasting a decade of musical expertise. Introduced to mariachi by his sister, Miguel’s musical journey began, fueled by a deep appreciation for the vibrant melodies and cultural richness of traditional Mexican music.
Beyond the realm of mariachi, Miguel is currently venturing into the business world with EZ Print and Design, a print-making enterprise dedicated to providing graphic design and print services for local businesses. In addition to his musical pursuits and entrepreneurial spirit, Miguel indulges in the intellectual realm through his love for reading and philosophy.
This multifaceted artist not only enchants audiences with his musical talents but also demonstrates his creativity and business acumen, making Miguel Angel Medrano a dynamic force in both the mariachi and entrepreneurial landscapes.
